this is hilarious because yuumei, herself, is chinese. and she took more than just 2 weeks in china to write her story. she has actually lived there before and i have personally talked to her about her story before and she puts lot of research and effort in writing Knite. not only that…maybe you are the ignorant person in this.

“japanese school uniforms” no chinese uniforms are like that. i’m sorry that everything that seems “asian” to you literally means “japanese.” wow, good job.

“misremembered nursery rhymes” okay maybe it was mistranslated, more or less, but the nursery rhyme can be interpreted by anyone. i have heard the nursery rhyme before and, more or less, that’s how it goes. maybe you should tell ALL of us what it is then, huh?

“western stereotypes dressed up as social issues” wait what? sorry but, these are actual problems that are happening in china ALSO. not everything is an american problem. and i don’t even see anything in Knite that can be called “thinly dressed” as a western stereotype…you can call me oblivious on this one if you want.

and i’m also positive she has spent time there visiting family and whatnot. what she draws is not what you always see when you’re off “vacationing” in china.

tl;dr: OP may need to educate him/herself more instead before going off to put down an artist who knows where she is going with this story.
